Dan Aykroyd vows to bring back Sigourney Weaver for 'Ghostbusters 3'

Dan Aykroyd has reportedly vowed to make Sigourney Weaver join the cast reunion for the new Ghostbusters movie, which is slated for a 2011 release.

While other original castmembers from the cult 1980s films including Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson have all reportedly signed up for the sequel, it is believed that Weaver - who starred in the first two films - would be unwilling to reprise her role as Dana Barrett.

However, Aykroyd, who co-wrote and starred in the originals, is sure he will be able to convince Weaver to star in the highly-anticipated third installment.

"When we do the Ghostbusters 3 movie, hopefully, Sigourney will be in it. I know we'll make that happen," the Daily Express quoted him as telling MTV.com.

However, Aykroyd is determined to remain tight-lipped when it comes to details about the new film.

"There will be a whole new generation that has to be trained. They'll be lots of cadets, boys and girls, who'll be learning how to use the psychotron, the accelerators and all the new stuff. And that whole new generation will be led by an individual who you'll all love when you meet him but I'm not going to tell you anything yet," he said.
