How many times have you written articles and never had them noticed? The problem might be that your article was not optimized for specific keywords. Choose specific keywords when writing yours articles and use them in the title and throughout your document. keyword density is basically calculating the number of times that your specific keyword is used within your article.
The first thing that you want to remember is that you do not want to overstuff your article or document with your intended keywords. If anything, this will hurt your site or article from ever being seen for the reason of being rejected or worse, labeled as spam. By checking your keyword density before hand you reduce the risk of your article being rejected and help to improve the search engine results.
You will need to check for keyword density within your article by counting the number of times that your keyword appears. If your article is three hundred words in length, you would divide the number of keywords by three hundred to get your keyword density for that article. The accepted norm for keyword density is around three to five percent, which will get you noticed by the search engines.
As an example, let’s say that your total number of keywords which are in your article is twelve times. You would simply divide twelve by three hundred and come up with four percent keyword density in that article. This is right in the middle of the rule which will make your article acceptable.
The standard three to five percent rule for keyword density will apply to all your articles. Also, this rule will apply for other keywords placed in your article, whether single keywords or keyword phrases. A simple procedure to check your keyword density would be to place your content in software like word.
Than click on the tools menu and select the word count, this will give you the total number of words in your article. After you get the total word count, select the find function in the edit menu. Click on the replace tab and type in your keyword that you want to find. Than replace that word with the exact same keyword so no changes will be made to the original article.
When you finish the replace function the system provides you with a total count of the words you replaced. This is the number of times that you used the keyword in your article. With the total word count that you previously got and the total of the keywords you will now be able to calculate what your keyword density is for your article.
Another way of performing this would be to use a keyword density analyzer tool which will perform the same function in one step. This type of tool can also perform other functions based on keywords and phrases and can also analyze the keywords from competing websites.
No matter which method you choose to use, it is best to stay within the parameters of the keyword density rule. This will help to ensure that your document is received by the search engines and that your article will not be rejected.
