Could John Mayer's New Song Be About Jen?

John Mayer debuted a new song called Heartbreak Warfare on a recent five-day fan cruise aboard the Mayercraft Carrier 2. Speculation is already rife that the song is about ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.

He told the 3,000 fans on board that "it's miserable being around someone who's negative." The lyrics to this new song include "If you want more love/Why don't you say so?" plus "Drop it in/Push it in and twist the knife again/Watch my face as I pretend to feel no pain, pain, pain."

He says he's a positivity man but those words sound more negative than positive! According to the singer-songwriter, the concept of his next album, Battle Studies, which is out in a couple of weeks, is "the art of war of love".

Video Game Makes More Money Than Real Bands

Like it or not, we now live, as Jamiroquai foretold, in virtual reality. And so it comes as no surprise that the most successful band of the past year, isn’t a band at all.

Yup, in just over a year, Rock Band, the video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems, has recorded sales in excess of US$1 billion in North America alone! That’s more than U2, Radiohead, Maroon 5 and the Jonas Brothers have made in the same period!

In Time’s 2008 list of 100 Most Influential People, guitarist Steven Van Zandt who plays with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band claimed, “in the history of rock 'n' roll, Rock Band may just turn out to be up there with the rise of FM radio, CDs or MTV.”

It sure seems he is right!

Lady GaGa Sells Trash To Kids

No that’s not our view. That’s what The Rakes frontman Alan Donahue believes. In his interview with The Daily Star, Alan goes on to say, “I think she’s terrible and really ugly. I hate her.” He did have nice tings to say about Leona Lewis though. “Leona Lewis seems dull but nice,” he said. “She has standards, nice skin and can sing. Whereas Lady GaGa is trash and dresses like a prostitute.” Ouch! But is there a point to your tirade, Alan? Or are you just sore that she’s selling more albums than you could ever hope to?
