How to Make Money Online With Affiliate Products

Once you have a list building, there's no question that you can make a lot of money selling other people's products. This is the concept known as affiliate marketing-where you promote someone else's stuff and make a portion of the profits from each sale. In fact, if people ask me how to make money online, I would suggest they start here...after they start building their list, of course!

You pick your niche and start building your list, then you find products that fit that niche. There are a couple of good places where you can find products. These services are great for sellers because the hard work of managing affiliates and creating a sales system are removed and handled by the online vending system, and they're great for affiliates for the same reasons.

Stick to your niche

It is absolutely critical that you stick with affiliate products that fit your list...don't just pick any item because it is selling well or has a great commission rate. So for example, you never want to try to sell a quilting list something about Internet Marketing because they won't have any idea what you want them to buy. It's like trying to mix oil and water; it just won't work. If you do it, there is a small chance you will make a few sales, but what you are really going to get is a lot of people unsubscribing from your list!

Pick the right service

There are a variety of services...and they tend to specialize, albeit broadly, in the types of products they carry. Some services will be better than others for what your particular list might want. You may have to join more than one site to find the products best suited for you list. The good news is that it is generally free to join these sites...so get ready to do a little digging!

Finding affiliate programs

There are a lot of sites and affiliate programs out there...here are some of the biggies:

* ClickBank
* PatDotCom
* Commission Junction

You can always use Google to search for more...type in "affiliate program+" and after the + sign put in your niche topic. Also, look at any sites that you frequent already that are in your niche. Look at the bottom of the site...a lot of sites will have a link at the bottom asking you to join their affiliate program.

Sometimes they don't use the word "affiliate", even though it is probably the most frequent term, so look around-especially if it is a site that you really like and want to recommend their products. If you can't find anything, go ahead and contact them. It is possible they don't have a program...or maybe it is just hard to find!

Keep up with your list building...and while you are doing that you doing that check out some affiliate sites. Find a product that fits your niche and begin promoting it. That's how to make money online-even for somebody just starting out, with not much of a list!
